Heroes by the Thousand,
2015.
Installation.

Heroes by the Thousand is a reflection on Colombia’s historical memory and the construction of national identity through the exaltation of the hero figure. The work establishes a symbolic dialogue with national identity and its ideological processes, while also questioning the rhetoric of power. Indeed, the installation reconsiders the logic of the monument, understanding it as a counterpoint to the processes that emphasize and validate the figure of the hero or leader as major characters in the construction of history and national identity.
